Ukkattha Fest 2023

The theme of Ukkattha Fest 2023 was ‘Importance of Education’ to inspire our young learners and raise community awareness about the pivotal role of education in empowerment.

A play based on the life of Savitribai Phule was the highlight of the event. We engaged a theatre trainer to prepare the learners for it. They conducted theatre activities and ice-breaking sessions to enhance the learners' interpersonal communication, teamwork, voice modulation, and acting abilities for the play. For many, it was their first experience on a public stage.

Along with the play, the young learners showcased songs, dances, and a gallery walk of their artwork on various social topics. The cultural event highlighted learners' growth in collaboration, critical thinking, and communication. It also fostered community ties, and parental pride in their children's achievements.

A parent said-

“I felt proud and emotional to see my child performing on such a big stage.
It is my first time in such a big auditorium.”

Our honored guests were presented with handmade gifts made by our Zindagi Fellows and women from the Kuki tribe. Each gift was not just a material item, but a celebration of the skills of our Fellows and the Kuki tribe.
