Workshops

Project Mukti’s four key focus areas in our workshops have been:

  • Knowledge Production

  • Intersectionality

  • Female Health

  • Financial Literacy

Here are some of the ways we create, build and share knowledge in our communities-

Wikipedia Edit-a-thons

Knowledge and a commitment to an open-source culture are the keys to breaking the epistemic hegemonies that exist in society. In this effort, Project Mukti led the first set of India's national Wikipedia edit-a-thons in 2016 with students from marginalized communities across the country.

Intersectionality

Caste, gender, and sexuality are topics of utmost importance to us. Hence our workshops focus on concepts like caste and patriarchy, gender inequalities, the social influence on gender expression, the importance of consent in sexual relationships, destigmatizing the development of sexuality, fighting anti-queer and anti-trans sentiments, and gender fluidity. These workshops have been carefully crafted to suit all age groups.

Female Health

Women from marginalized communities are often not given the proper medical care and attention they deserve. These training sessions on female health are designed to equip these women with the skills and confidence to advocate for their own health and well-being.

Financial Literacy

Most marginalized women lack financial literacy and find the paperwork and processes involved very complex. Our Financial Literacy workshops introduce these women to concepts of short-term and long-term investments, various financial schemes, and planning options.
